WE-S Architecten adds diagonal brick extension to Belgian bungalow

A long, thin extension clad in bricks by WE-S Architecten cuts diagonally through the plan of this bungalow in Pittem, Belgium.
Ghent-based studio WE-S Architecten disguised the addition, which extends out of both sides of the existing building, by cladding the whole of the facade in red brick. Cut-out reveals of the garage space and covered terrace are finished in a contrasting white.The extension upgraded a poorly-insulated home in which a quarter of the plan was given over to an underused gar
