Wall Street higher as jobs data reins in September rate hike bets
The Labor Department's monthly jobs report showed nonfarm payrolls rose by 151,000 last month, while the unemployment rate remained unchanged at 4.9 percent. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast addition of 180,000 jobs last month. "This mixed jobs report puts the Fed in a tricky situation," said Mohamed El-Erian, chief economic adviser at Allianz in Newport Beach, California.
