Wall Street drifts higher as tech, energy gain

The S&P health sector was the biggest loser, while the Nasdaq biotech index was on track for its biggest monthly fall in 16 years with a 3 percent fall. At 12:59 p.m. ET (1759 GMT), the Dow Jones industrial average was up 67.9 points, or 0.43 percent, at 16,012.36, the S&P 500 was up 10.65 points, or 0.57 percent, at 1,893.6 and the Nasdaq Composite index was up 38.52 points, or 0.86 percent, at 4,506.69. The two stocks gave the biggest boost to the Nasdaq.
