UPS beats earnings expectations, raises full-year guidance
United Parcel Service reported second-quarter results that exceeded Wall Street projections and prompted the company to elevate its full-year outlook. The parcel delivery firm posted net income of $604 million, or 71 cents per share, for the quarter ending June 30, representing a decline from the prior-year period’s $1.28 billion, or $1.51 per share. On an adjusted basis excluding one-time items, the company recorded profit of $1.5 billion, or $1.76 per share.
