Oil prices higher, buoyed by cooler U.S. inflation data

Oil futures looked to stretch their gains into a third straight session on Friday, as a cooler-than-expected U.S. June consumer-price index reading this week reinforced expectations for the Federal Reserve to begin cutting interest rates later this year.
