Nobel laureate Derek Walcott, Caribbean poet, dies at 87

CASTRIES, St. Lucia (AP) — Derek Walcott, a Nobel prize-winning poet known for capturing the essence of his native Caribbean, died Friday on the island of St. Lucia. He was 87.
