Kalshi asks CFTC to allow margin trading on prediction markets

Kalshi submitted a filing with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission on Tuesday requesting authorization to provide leverage on its event contracts. The submission came through Kalshi Klear, the company’s internal clearinghouse, and represents an effort to expand the functionality available to traders on the platform.
Margin trading involves using borrowed capital to gain exposure beyond what a trader’s own funds would permit. This practice is commonplace in equities and derivati
