Exxon tops 3Q profit forecasts

IRVING, Texas (AP) — Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) on Friday reported third-quarter earnings of $2.65 billion.
The Irving, Texas-based company said it had profit of 63 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations, but Exxon does not adjust its reported results based on one-time events such as asset sales. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 60 cents per share.
