Detroit officer critical after shooting; suspect killed

DETROIT (AP) — A man who critically wounded a Detroit police officer responding to a domestic dispute was caught on video surveillance chambering a round into a handgun as officers knocked on the door to his apartment building, the city’s police chief said Monday.
Cameras inside the west side building also recorded the man going down some stairs and extending the .380-caliber pistol as he opened the exterior door where the officers stood on the other side, James Craig told reporters
