U.S. Winter Wheat Planting, Emergence Behind Normal
U.S. winter wheat planting made solid progress this past week, although the national pace remained behind normal. Monday’s USDA crop progress report showed 36% of the 2027 American winter wheat crop was in the ground as of Sunday, up 9 percentage points from a week earlier. However, planting remained well behind the five-year average of 46%. Kansas planting advanced to 24% complete from 18% the previous week, compared with the five-year average of 40%.
