Grains Push Higher Into the Weekend

CBOT grains finished Friday with another strong showing as crop concerns, fund buying and global supply risks kept momentum firmly pointed higher. December corn gained 3 cents to $5.36 1/2 per bushel, November soybeans jumped 20 cents to $12.88, and December wheat surged 23 1/2 cents to $7.84. Early U.S. yield disappointment and strengthening basis added support to corn, while soybeans benefited from export demand and a strong vegetable oil complex.
