Today, Ellen invited Nayyef and Btoo to tell their story! Nayyef and Btoo met 12 years ago during a mission in the Iraq War. Nayyef was a translator, and Btoo was a Sergeant who quickly fell in love, but they were unable to come out due the repercussions of being gay in Iraq. Thankfully, Nayyef was granted asylum in the United States, and soon after, Btoo escaped to Lebanon where he stayed in hiding for over four years.
