Blue Jays acquire former closer Grilli from Braves

ATLANTA (AP) — Former closer Jason Grilli has been acquired by the Toronto Blue Jays from the Atlanta Braves for a pitching prospect.
The 39-year-old right-hander is 1-2 with a 5.29 ERA and two saves in his comeback from a career-threatening injury. Grilli’s 2015 season ended when tore his left Achilles tendon on July 11. He had 24 saves and a 2.94 ERA in 36 games before the injury.
