SoftBank is reportedly buying chip designer ARM for $31 billion

SoftBank has agreed to acquire British chip designer ARM Holdings for £23.4 billion (about $31 billion), the Financial Times reports, making the deal the biggest ever purchase of a European technology company. The publication says the official announcement of the acquisition will come on Monday morning, with SoftBank paying £17 for each share in the British company, weeks after the UK voted to leave the EU and the pound plummeted in value.
