Netflix’s Little Evil puts a new comic spin on the evil-kid trope

Parenthood can be a nightmare, and horror movies frequently play on that trope. There’s an entire subgenre of creepy-child films, from The Bad Seed to The Omen to The Babadook, and they all tap into the creeping anxiety that comes with having children. Netflix’s Little Evil is the latest to join the ranks. On paper, it’s fairly rote — as disturbing supernatural phenomena pile up, Gary (Adam Scott) begins to suspect his new stepson Lucas (Owen Atlas) may be the Antichrist.
