Ford says slow-and-steady will win the self-driving car race

Ford doesn’t want to be the first company to offer self-driving cars to the public; it it wants to be the brand most synonymous with the word “trust” — at least, that’s what the company says in its self-driving safety report, which it delivered to the US Department of Transportation Thursday. The 44-page document, entitled “A Matter of Trust,” outlines the technology and procedures Ford is using to safely deploy its fleet of autonomous test vehicles.For
