Chelsea Manning ends hunger strike after military agrees to transition surgery

Chelsea Manning has ended the hunger strike she began September 9th after the US military agreed to let her receive gender reassignment surgery, according to her lawyers. "I am unendingly relieved that the military is finally doing the right thing," Manning said in a statement. "I applaud them for that. This is all that I wanted — for them to let me be me."
Manning has been fighting to get treatment for her gender dysphoria more or less since she began serving her 35 year prison sente
