NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman space telescope launches

Today at 7:26 a.m. EDT, the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope officially launched aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center near Cape Canaveral, Florida. The Falcon Heavy’s 27 Merlin engines generated over 5 million pounds of thrust, and pushed the rocket through the atmosphere.
