Grocery inflation surged in April despite a decline in world food commodity prices

While the price of gas, clothing, and many other consumer goods has fallen during the pandemic, grocery prices are on the rise, with the food-at-home index showing the largest monthly increase since February 1974, despite continued declines in world food commodity prices.
