Tony Dyson, Who Brought R2-D2 to Rolling, Beeping Life, Dies at 68

Mr. Dyson originally built eight models of the robot for the first “Star Wars” film, some operated by remote control and two fitted with a seat inside for the actor Kenny Baker.
