Mae Slavens

Mae Davis Slavens, 78, of Poteau passed away Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015, in Fort Smith. Mae was born May 20, 1937, in Cameron, Okla., to Willie L. and Grace E. (Gipson) Davis. She married Albert O. Slavens on Feb. 26, 1956. She had a masters in early childhood from Northeastern State University. Mae was a teacher at Poteau Public Schools from 1977 to ­2000. She was a member of the Poteau Eastern Star Chapter and Oklahoma Education Association. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and bowling. I
