Everett Ray “Skipp” Newman, 75, of Barling passed from this life March 28, 2016, in Fort Smith. He was born Sept. 30, 1940, in Stockton, Calif., to the late, William and Ruth Newman. He was a Marine Corps veteran and a retired deputy from the San Bernardino County (Calif.) Sheriff’s Department. Skipp was active with the Masonic Lodge in Barstow, Calif., and Fort Smith.
