Eric Loran

Brother Eric Loran, OSB, age 78, monk of Subiaco Abbey, died peacefully Feb. 25, 2016. He graduated in 1955 from Rhineland (Texas) High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force as an air traffic controller in several states and also overseas. As a civilian, he served in the same capacity in several Texas airports. He married in 1962 and had two children, a girl and a boy. After his divorce, he came to Subiaco Abbey in 1973, where he later professed his vows as a Benedictine monk Aug. 15, 1976.
