Dale Underwood

The Rev. Dale Wayne Underwood, 83-year-old Checotah, Okla., resident, passed away Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, in Checotah. He was born Tuesday, Oct. 11, 1932, to Cecil and Edna (Butler) Underwood in Vian. Dale grew up in Vian, where he attended school, graduated from Spiro High School and received his higher education from Northwestern College. He entered the Army on Thursday, Oct. 13, 1949, at 17, serving for 24 years. He married the love of his life, Nancy Welch and they were united in marriage Sund
