South African Singer-Songwriter Msaki Spreads Her Wings With Angelic Voice on Billboard Live At-Home

For Billboard’s Platoon Africa Artist Showcase, emerging singer-songwriter Msaki stunned fans with a liberating Billboard Live At-Home performance Thursday (May 21) from her home studio.
Wearing white face paint on the top half of her face, Msaki (real name Asanda Msaki Mvana) started off her set with “Gibel’ Inkwenkwezi,” an Afro folk song from her 2016 album Zaneliza: How the Water Moves which she sang in her mother South African tongue of Xhosa.
