Questlove Set as 2021 Oscars’ Musical Director

Questlove has been selected as musical director for the 93rd annual Academy Awards, set to air April 25 on ABC. Questlove has performed on the Oscars previously, but this is his first time as musical director.
Questlove, founding member of hip-hop group The Roots, is musical director for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, for which The Roots serves as the house band. He has also held musical directing positions with such artists as D’Angelo, Eminem and Jay-Z.
