There is a comforting version of the AI music story in which the record labels sue, the technology companies pay, and musicians emerge with their rights intact. The lawyers finish arguing, the executives shake hands, and somebody issues a statement about protecting creativity. We are supposed to recognize this as a happy ending. I would like to see
