Events in Arizona history in the week of Nov. 29-Dec. 5 included the 1852 arrival in Yuma of the first steamboat on the Colorado River, the 1905 recommendation by Presidential Theodore Roosevelt for joint statehood for Arizona and New Mexico and the 1915 presidential proclamation that made Walnut Canyon a national monument.
