Tax-cutting governor resigns to take Trump administration post
The tax-cutting Republican governor of Kansas, whose policies were opposed even by members of his own party, resigned Thursday to become President Donald Trump's ambassador-at-large for international religious freedom.Sam Brownback sent a letter saying he would step down as chief executive of the Midwestern state on January 31 to take up the job within the Trump administration.Donald Trump nominated Brownback for the State department position in July.
