Hong Kong protesters call for help from Donald Trump

Frustrated Hong Kong protesters appealed directly to the United States for help yesterday, calling on President Donald Trump to help “liberate” the city.  Riot police fired tear gas after tens of thousands of protesters marched to the US consulate, waving American flags and singing the Star Spangled Banner.  The protests were the biggest since Carrie Lam formally announced the withdrawal of the controversial extradition bill that set off months of unrest.
