Former Obama aide Emanuel won't seek third Chicago mayor term

Mayor of Chicago Rahm Emanuel, once a star of the Democratic party and chief of staff to former US President Barack Obama, will not seek a third term, he announced Tuesday.In a tear-filled, surprise announcement, Emanuel told a hastily-arranged news conference that he would not run again for the highest office in the nation's third largest city, and the hometown of his former boss Obama."I've decided not to seek re-election," Emanuel said.
