Will Linux support Microsoft’s Surface 3 tablet in the upcoming version 4.8 release?

Linux kernel 4.8 will support Microsoft's Surface 3 tablet according to a letter to Linus Torvalds. A touchscreen controller driver for the device was submitted by Dmitry Torokhov at the end of July before the merge window closed for build v4.8.
