Why you can’t order a Toyota Prius with a roof-mounted solar panel

Toyota will offer the plug-in hybrid variant of the Prius with a roof-mounted solar panel in Japan and in Europe. We won't see the panel -- which boosts efficiency by 10 percent -- in the U.S. until later in the production run.
