US astronaut John Glenn is buried with military honors

US flags worldwide were ordered flown at half-staff on Thursday as astronaut John Glenn, the first American to orbit Earth, was laid to rest with military honors.Glenn died in December 2016 at the age of 95, after a long career that included serving as a Marine fighter pilot, a NASA astronaut and a US senator.A year earlier, Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin had become the first human in space and orbited the planet.
