Twitter ‘accidentally’ killed usernames in replies, and users weren’t happy

On Thursday, Twitter “accidentally” shelved the @ symbol in tweet replies on iOS, and the reaction from users was hostile, to say the least. Does this mean the platform will change its mind about the planned update?
