Microsoft accidentally left a backdoor wide open to firmware access on Surface devices

Microsoft accidentally shipped a tool on Windows devices that allows anyone to bypass the Secure Boot provision, which prevents unsigned software installs. The tool was discovered in March, and Microsoft has released two patches to block the tool.
