Inventor of World Wide Web Snags Computer Science's Top Prize

Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web, has snagged one of the most prestigious prizes in computer science: the A.M. Turing Award.The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the organization that awards the $1 million prize, announced the Turing Award winner earlier this week."The first-ever World Wide Web site went online in 1991," ACM President Vicki Hanson said in a statement.
