Huawei’s powerhouse Kirin 970 chip has its own processor dedicated to AI

Huawei's new Kirin 970 chip, an eight-core powerhouse, has a Neural Processing Unit dedicated to crunching data for use by artificial intelligence programs. The chip is expected to arrive in a new Huawei flagship phone this October.
