Face unlock may hit Chromebooks, another step toward killer mobile device status

Buried in recent commits to the Chromium open-source project powering Google Chrome and Chrome OS was a change enabling face detection functionality. This update will enable Chromebooks with the right hardware to allow face unlocking.
