U.S. stocks slip on earnings; US dollar index at 7-month high

By Hilary Russ NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. stocks slipped on disappointing earnings reports on Tuesday, while U.K shares rose helped by mining firms, and crude oil prices fell as the U.S. dollar hit a seven month high.
