Togo's economic growth to average 5.5 pct through 2018 - IMF

ABIDJAN (Reuters) - Togo's economy will grow by an average of 5.5 percent between this year and 2018, up slightly from 5.4 percent over the 2013/14 period, the International Monetary Fund said in a statement on Friday. The west African nation, an aspiring regional transit hub, is expected to trim its current account deficit to 9.6 percent of GDP by 2020 from a forecast 12.3 percent this year provided it narrows its fiscal deficit in the coming years.
