South Africa's Sappi Q2 earnings rise, Europe robust

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - South African paper maker Sappi Ltd reported higher quarterly profit on Thursday as robust demand in Europe offset rising costs. Sappi, the world's largest maker of the fine paper used in glossy magazines, said diluted earnings per share were at 11 U.S cents in the three-months to end-March compared to 6 U.S. cents a year ago.
