Mauritian Q3 business confidence index down, hurt by global slowdown
Business confidence in Mauritius fell in the third quarter of 2016, a survey of leading private companies showed on Monday, as the global economic environment worsened. The quarterly index, run by the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), dropped 5.1 percent to 93 points in the July-September quarter. The country's economy is expected to grow 3.7 percent this year, according to Statistics Mauritius, down from an earlier forecast of 3.9 percent.
