Northern Ireland's Martin McGuinness, who died aged 66, was a former paramilitary who became a key behind-the-scenes negotiator for the peace process.McGuinness, who resigned as Northern Ireland's deputy first minister in January amid ill-health and a breakdown in relations with the rival Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), died during the night of Monday to Tuesday, his Irish nationalist party Sinn Fein said.
