Kenya's remittances rise 0.9 pct in Sept from year ago

NAIROBI (Reuters) - Money sent home by Kenyans living abroad increased 0.9 percent to $128.4 million in September compared to the same month last year, the central bank said on Monday. Known as remittances, the cash is a major source of foreign exchange for east Africa's biggest economy alongside tea, horticulture and tourism.
