Judge blocks recall attempt against indicted Washington state auditor

By Victoria Cavaliere SEATTLE (Reuters) - Washington state auditor Troy Kelley, who pleaded not guilty last month to charges of tax evasion and lying to federal agents, will not have to face a recall effort as he fights the charges, a state judge ruled on Friday. Kelley, a Democrat from Tacoma, has taken a leave of absence to prepare his defense against a 10-count federal indictment brought against him in April linked to a document-tracking business he formerly ran.
