Inflation picking up in Germany, France: data
Efforts by the ECB to ward off deflation in the eurozone appear to be having an effect with inflation ticking up in Germany and France, data showed Wednesday, although prices continued to fall in Spain. Inflation in Germany, Europe's biggest economy, crept higher in April with consumer prices rising by 0.3 percent year-on-year when using the ECB's methodology, final data from the federal statistics office Destatis showed.
