FBM KLCI opens higher buoyed by strong external sentiment

KUALA LUMPUR: The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) opened higher today, buoyed by bullish external sentiment, including last week’s rebound of Wall Street, dealers said. At 9.13am, the benchmark index rose 5.4 points to 1,813.05 after opening 1.57 points higher at 1,809.22. The dealer said the rebound on Wall Street, sparked by strong April employment numbers, could help lift the local market this week.
