Marks & Spencer backs UK textile recycling chain built to scale
UK generated around 1.4 million tonnes of post-consumer textiles in 2024, with nearly half estimated non-reusable.
M&S, New Look, Sainsbury's Tu Clothing and Oxfam have joined Circle-8's The Circuit to build a collection, sorting and pre-processing supply chain.
Phase one starts in January 2027 at Oxfam's Batley site, testing automated sorting, traceability and recycler links.
