Is POY 2.0 turning efficiency into the new polyester advantage?

Barmag, owned by Switzerland's Rieter, is positioning POY 2.0 around lower running costs, not higher output.
POY, or partially oriented yarn, is used in clothing and home textiles; the redesign covers the spin pack, spinning beam and winder.
It claims one-third lower filter-sand use, up to 10 per cent lower energy use and automatic string-up to shorten changeovers.
